Add corn, nightshade vegetables, and selected chemical food additives to the "Big 8" mandatory allergens to list

Created by D.F. on November 13, 2012

Add the following foods to the "Big 8" that food manufacturers are required to list on food packaging and restaurants are required to have at least the chef and / or manager know are in certain foods:

Corn
Nightshade Vegetables (Tomatoes, Eggplants)
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG / Accent)
Aspartame (Equal / Nutra-sweet)
Red 40
Sodium Nitrite

All of these are fairly common allergens (not as common as the "Big 8", but still not by any means rare), not to mention that Aspartame and Monosodium Glutamate are known migraine headache triggers.
