Add a dedicated network card for a dedicated local maintenance network allowing Wake-On-LAN to government computers. The purpose of having a maintenance network allowing Wake-On-LAN is to allow administrators to turn on computers to do maintenance and allow users to turn off the computers when they are not using them. Currently government computers must be left on continuously to allow administrators to push security patches and to perform other kinds of maintenance. The maintenance network should have the same reach and scope as the group of administrators assigned maintain the computers. There would be many maintenance networks. The maintenance network should not be bridged with other networks to prevent outside attackers from accessing the computer while it is off. It would save money.
