Add dental care to the Affordable Care Act, especially down to the Medicaid level.

Created by N.Q. on November 18, 2012

While medical care is easily identifiable as necessary for everyone, the effects of dental problems are not as apparent. Many people defer or skip dental visits because of the cost which they are unable to afford. In the long run, those problems can lead to serious, even fatal, health problems. Some states have removed dental care from their Medicaid programs purely as a means of reducing costs, but the costs of emergency room care that we all pay goes up because such a large segment of the population has nowhere else to turn when dental problems become a serious health crisis.
