Many disease and health problems originate from periodontal issues. While a good dental maintenance program may help avoid many dental problems, it doesn't always prevent dental complications that result in expensive dental procedures. Unexpected dental expense can run well into many thousands of dollars and if left ignored many dental complications can result in much bigger health problems. While some people may benefit from dental coverage through an employee benefit program others are left to pay out of pocket and can face VERY large expenses. It is my belief that if every American shall buy health insurance then dental coverage should be part of that program. This proposal excludes all cosmetic procedure and focuses on necessity and prevention.
