Add to the dictionary definition of cheesecake that cheesecake is a pie dessert.

Created by S.N. on February 08, 2013

Merriam-Webster's definition of cake states that cake is "a sweet baked food made from a dough or thick batter usually containing flour and sugar and often shortening, eggs, and a raising agent". Cheesecake is cheese based, and does not contain any flour at all. In addition, pie is defined as "a dessert consisting of a filling in a pastry shell or topped with pastry or both". This is again from Merriam-Webster, but to be simplified, a pie can be defined as a dessert with a crust and filling. There is a graham cracker crust on a typical cheesecake. which is filled with a custard-like filling, cream cheese based.

We wish to make it known in all dictionary definitions online and in physical dictionaries that cheesecake is a pie and not a cake. We wish this to take effect by Jan. 1st, 2014.
