An addition of a discussion or comments section to all open petitions on We the People will have several benefits:
-It allows for a broader view on issues instead of a singular and bias justification for signing the petition.
-It promotes debate within the people, helping people make educated decisions rather than just personal bias.
-It will prevent people from lying or telling the half truth on petitions to dupe people into signing the petition. People in the discussion section will be able to correct falsified or incorrect information.
Of course, spam filters and abuse reports will need to be implemented, but I believe that the benefits of implementing this function will outweigh the costs.
