Only prospective students with a High School credential are eligible to receive FAFSA Financial Aid. These credentials are a HS Diploma, a GED, or an HSED.
FAFSA needs an "option" for prospective students who do not have a High School credential, to borrow the funds necessary to pay for GED testing fees, so they can earn the credential and become eligible for Financial Aid as they prepare to attend their College or University.
