In 1997, scientists conclusively proved that fructose and alcohol are solely responsible for the obesity epidemic and are chiefly responsible for heart disease and type-2 diabetes. Since then, activists have been trying to get the word out and slowly people are beginning to adopt a fructose-free diet.
However, the food labels on the products we buy use broad umbrella categories like "sugars" (or even worse, "carbohydrates") instead of specifying "glucose" and "fructose". These numbers can be found on the USDA Web site, but not on the product.
We can never end obesity; some people simply prefer to eat whatever they like. But if food labels were required by law to list "fructose" and "glucose" levels, we could end the epidemic and guarantee that anyone anywhere can lose weight for free
