Knowing the process to buy a gun, the background check isn't adequate and simply is a technicality checking a history of violent crimes. Would anyone with a history of violent crimes try to buy a gun legally? The government needs to be smarter about this and do a mental check from a psychiatrist for every gun owner to try to prevent these crimes. Also guns should be kept in a safe to protect non-owners from hurting themselves or others with a friend or family member's gun.
