LMHCS and LPCs have been licensed counselors, equivalent in education experience to LICSWs for decades now, and it is only hurting patients to not add them to Medicare's approved providers list. This has been proposed to Congress over 30 times but has not made it out of the gridlock, and patients continue to suffer. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN ASAP. Propose a stand-alone bill and push to have the House and Senate approve it. No one benefits from it not happening, and patients suffer from lack of access to mental health care.
