Pass legislation adding Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to the list of approved mental health providers.
Right now, only LICSWs and psychologists can bill under Medicare, but LMHCs and LPCs have been licensed state by state for a couple decades. The federal standard need to be updated in order to expand the number of mental health therapist available to people on Medicare.
