Add a one cent tax to every gallon of gasoline sold, and use that money to fund/subsidize cleaner and greener energy.

In 2014, about 136.78 billion gallons of gasoline were consumed (U.S. Energy Information Administration). This averages out to be 441 gallons of gasoline, per person, per year. This is a simple calculation which does not take into account the fact that a large percentage of gasoline consumed is for industry transportation, and not the general population. However, even IF this wasn't the case, that amounts to the average person giving less than $5.00 per year. Even with such a small amount, that would result in almost 1.4 billion dollars (again, rough calculation) to be spent on providing subsidies for implementing cleaner energy solutions as well as funding research.
