add an option on tax return form to designate tax dollars to NASA instead of or in addition to the general election fund

NASA is shamefully underfunded. Offering taxpayers the option to designate some of their tax dollars towards this vital agency would provide a source of supplemental funding. This could be achieved by simply offering on our tax return forms, an option to check a box to designate funds directly to NASA, similar to the option to designate towards the general election fund. This idea could be broadened to include designations for other departments or agencies. We often use the phrase "your tax dollars at work" in a negative way. This would be a chance to give people a sense that their taxes (in some small form) aren't being wasted.
