Poland is the only Central European Country not in the Visa Waiver Program. This program would allow citizens of Poland to travel to the United States for tourism or business for up to 90 days without having to obtain a visa. Poland is a NATO ally of the United State, and has fought alongside American soliders in both the war in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq; however, Polish citizens are unable to even visit the US without enduring a difficult travel visa process. Poles have to pay about $100 in addition to traveling to the US embassy or consulate for an interview. Poles can travel to Canada without a visa, but not to the US. This unnecessary restriction only hurts the strength of the unique relationship between our two nations and hurts US business relations and our tourism industry.
