The historical impact of FDR cannot be denied. In his time in office he, quite well arguably, saved the United States of America twice, from problems both foreign and domestic. His reforms have lasted to this day and profoundly changed the lives of all Americans. He represents an era in American history and most of the major struggles, and advancements that came out of them, of the first half of the twentieth century. If any other president deserves to be immortalized in this iconic American monument, it is president Franklin Roosevelt.
