Wall Friezes & Pediment of the US Supreme Court Building display the statues of lawgivers of ancient civilizations except “Manu," the lawgiver of the ancient Vedic civilization of India. According to Vedic literature, Manu was the beginner of the present human race who preserved various life species during the great deluge by building a boat, which was towed by a fish to high land. Manu was the first author of an important Sanskrit code-of-Law, called the Manusmriti. Manusmriti prescribes Dharma, a set of obligations incumbent on the human race and, Laws of Manu, which contains 18 titles to provide grounds for litigation & legal process. Influence of Manusmriti has been monumental. It provided the society a robust system-of-law and code of practical morality for thousands of years.
