Our current education system does not teach our children enough about the ideologies that this country was founded on. children are not required to study the Constitution or completely understand their rights under the ammendments to it. Most young adults can not accurately give basic facts about our country and the men and women who helped make it what it is today.
Adding a required course that would delve into the Constitution as well as teach children the ideas and values this great nation was founded upon would create a more informed society able to make better decisions about the wellfare of this country when they exercise their right to vote.
How can we expect the people to vote for the best interest of this country when they don't know anything about it.
