Add a term "Arabian" to refer to the Arabic people under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission categories on race.

Created by I.B. on April 21, 2015

Selecting an option from the current list of available ethnic choices under the Ethnic and Racial Categories on the EEO-1 report caters to all major populations in the nation EXCEPT for the Arabic people.

There is no clear option for us to select, and it is confusingly unfair. As seen in other surveys:

"Middle Eastern" invokes no feelings of who we are, and is just as similar as saying "North Western" instead of White, and "Far Eastern" for Asian.

"Arab" has been used in both beneficial and derogatory ways. It has been used for good and bad, and while it works, we can go one step further in a more professional term.

"Arabian" is professional and has never been used negatively, and is favorable enough to promote a needed equality and fairness in the workplace and other places as well.
