This petition is to have United States Court and Special Security Officer (CSOS & SSOs) who are Special Deputy United States Marshals while on duty eligible to receive the public safety officers death benefit awarded by the Public Safety Officers Benefits Program.
Court & Special Security Officers are responsible for the protection of the US Courthouses and personnel employed within. They are armed Special Deputized US Marshals while one duty, with limited arrest powers.
