This petition is for an addendum to current child support laws in Virgina, We're asking to insert a Loss of wages Section for non custodial parents paying child support to allow the parent that loses their job during a Natural Disaster, Failing economy to be granted an automatic freeze on their support order until parent regains employment. Parents quitting job or being fired would not be allowed to file for a support freeze.Thousands of so-called “deadbeat” parents are jailed each year in the U.S. after failing to pay court-ordered child support — the vast majority of them for withholding or hiding money out of spite or a feeling that they’ve been unfairly treated.
