Address the Burden of Federal Parent Plus Student Loan Debt

Created by S.W. on June 09, 2014

Although the Obama Administration has taken steps to alleviate the burden of student loan debt born by our children, very little if anything has had an impact on Federal Parent Plus Loans. Today the gap between available student federal loans and the cost of attendance at institutions of higher education in this country has grown exponentially. The predominate way for most middle class families to address the gap is for parents to take on the burden of Parent Plus Loans. Parent Plus Loan debt can easily dwarf the estimated $29,400 our children graduate with but the recent steps taken by the administration to address student loan debt does not provide a pathway that includes Parent Plus Loan debt. Please include Parent Plus Loans in the efforts to address student loan debt.
