Address childhood obesity by revitalizing the free lunch program

Created by T.G. on April 08, 2014

The free lunch program for school aged children is hugely successful at providing nourishment to countless students everyday. The program is necessary. It is crucial that a student be fed so that they can focus on their school work rather than their empty stomach. While the current program provides an adequate amount of food, the quality, nutritional value, and variety is a bit less adequate.

With the help of big business' corporate giving and partnerships with local communities and schools, this country can set the bar high for government food programs in schools.

It is time that the poor are given adequate nutritional options and taught how to care for their health from a young age so that this country begins to win the battle over obesity.
