Address contradictions between the Federally run program providing medical marijuana, and the Controlled Substance Act.

Created by D.H. on November 25, 2011

The Federal government is currently providing medical marijuana to four individuals through the program "Compassionate IND". This is a complete and direct contradiction with marijuana's classification under the Controlled substance act, which declares:
"The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States; There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision; No prescriptions may be written for Schedule I substances, and such substances are subject to production quotas by the DEA."
