Many Americans do not have health insurance because the cost of insurance is too high resulting from high costs to provide health care. Before mandating insurance with the Affordable Care Act, why doesn't the administration tackle the reason health care is so expensive. For example, a huge expense driver for providers is malpractice insurance. Provide some real Tort reform and malpractice insurance will go down, leading to a decrease in heath care costs and health insurance. I realize lawyers are the predominant profession of politicians so Tort reform impacts their earning power, but this is the best solution for America. I am tired of reading about malpractice being settled when there is no wrong doing just because it is cheaper to settle than go to trial.
