The goal of this petition is to get the attention of the Obama administration and government officials to take action on current gun control laws. The current gun control laws aren't strict enough to prevent people with mental health issues from attaining fire arms.
The recent shooting in Santa Barbara, CA has caused families of the victims and concerned Americans to urge congress for change in the way someone can attain a fire arm. We need a law that enforces stricter background checks on people with mental health issues. People have the right to bear arms but we need to also need to make sure our Americans don't fall victim from gun violence.
