Address the epidemic of gun violence without adding more people who are carrying guns to our country

Trying to solve the problem of gun violence by adding more guns to our environment will only increase the chance that people who make poor decisions will have access to firearms. Suggesting that schools should have their own arsenal to protect themselves against intruders is not solving the problem, it is making it worse. Decreasing access to weapons of mass destruction, such as assault rifles, is the only sane approach.
