address the fact that alcohol and tobacco fall into schedule 1 drugs, and that cannabis (marijuana) does not

Created by C.D. on April 18, 2015

It has been proven through science and extensive research(though limited by the federal government) that cannabis (marijuana) can help those in need. I fail to see how tobacco and/or alcohol can help someone medicinally, and how each of these two drugs can be legal even though they pose a highly addictive nature/tendency. So far they fail to meet two of the three required points to classify as a schedule 1 drug. The third point to classify a schedule 1 drug is accepted safety, considering there were 88,000 deaths per year from 2006–2010( CDC.gov) from alcohol and more than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke) from tobacco(CDC.gov) how are these drugs legal, and also not classified as schedule 1 drugs ?
