Address how our country handles and views mental illness which is the true root of these tragic shootings, not firearms.

We as a country need to focus on what is truly causing these terrible tragedies and that is mental illness and not control of firearms. To enact gun control would only remove one of many available means for unstable individuals to cause harm to others and not address the root of the problem. From Columbine to Tuscon to Sandy Hook, they all had one thing in common, mental instability. The current outcry is for gun control but how is that going to stop someone from using the internet to make explosives or simply driving their vehicle into a crowd of people? It won't, and that is why we as a United Nation need change the stigma of mental illness and the accessibility to care so those afflicted by it will more readily seek help before these tragic events take place once again.
