The Ebola virus is a highly virulent and deadly infectious disease that rampages across West Africa;
Whereas,
The nature of Ebola makes it highly susceptible to mutation, including the ability to evolve into a form facilitating airborne transmission;
Whereas,
The recent confirmation of an Ebola carrier passing through US Customs and moving freely among the general population has endangered the health and safety of the American people and the security of the nation,
We, the undersigned, formally petition our government to take extraordinary precautions to protect the American people, including but not limited to, immediate quarantine of all travelers attempting entry to the US who have traveled from or through the region of West Africa affected by the Ebola pandemic.
