King.com, maker of the wildly popular mobile game "Candy Crush Saga" has recently, successfully, trademarked the word "Candy". King now owns the right of the usage of this word, not only for mobile games, but for any video game, AND clothing/merchandise. If someone makes a band with the word candy in it, they now cannot create a shirt with that word on it. The word candy has been a common and simple part of the English language for literally centuries. It is atrocious that such a broad trademark was granted to this company but it has happened. I don't know what power the government has regarding these types of issues, but I speak for many Americans when i say that I am outraged, and would like something to be done about this.
