In the event of a mass shooting, such as Sandy Hook, Aurora and many more, the media mentions the shooters name and shows pictures of them typically giving them more "air time" than the victims. This inspires other would be shooters to do the same.
A law prohibiting the name of a shooter in a mass hooting event from being mentioned by media for a period of 1 month after the shooting will avoid this inspiration to possible shooters and put the focus where it needs to be, which is the victims and prevention.
