address loopholes in the ACA and/or propose legislation to fix them.

Created by M.A. on September 18, 2015

Since the roll out of the ACA, Health Insurance companies and employers have taken advantage of a loophole that have allowed them to severely decrease Cadillac plan coverage while keeping the premium cost the same (or increases in some instances). I now have a Health Savings Plan which includes ridiculously high deductibles and a very low company contribution. One particular side effect has been an increase in copay for one prescription from $30 to $500 per month. My employer has explained that by law; this is all that is required of them because of items contained in the ACA. While I am very happy that previously uninsured citizens are now able to get coverage; these changes have severely affected my coverage and associated costs in an adverse way.
