Address Mental Healthcare as a ligament and major public health and safety issue.

Created by C.N. on December 22, 2012

The current event in Newtown, Connecticut is only one more example of how weak the mental health system is and how our avoidance perspective that we as a nation has taken not only is a disservice to the mentally ill citizens but is an illness that touches all of us as a nation. Our nation needs to treat the mentally ill as we do with any physical ailments. We need insurance companies to include full comprehensive mental health as a standard of care. We need a country wide campaign to educate the public on what mental health is about and normalize mental healthcare so treatment does not carry the stigma of disgrace and fear of social rejection.
