address the need for Craigslist to provide internal moderating of all ads prior to being published to the public.

Created by R.S. on January 07, 2016

Each day, millions of users post classifieds on Craigslist. Unfortunately, Craigslist does not have a reliable internal system to screen classifieds prior to going live for public view in the communities it serves.

Instead of taking action against users violating their Terms of Use prior to public exposure, the site relies on Community Moderating through the act of flagging inappropriate and often very illegal solicitations.

Unfortunately, Community Moderation is not an effective system to ensure the safety of our communities. One of the main areas this is most apparent is the personals section. There are countless ads that promote the sale and use of drugs, prostitution and pornography.

We are asking Craigslist be held accountable and internally moderate prior to public exposure.
