Address pharmaceutical copyright laws to reduce medicare/medicaid/VA costs

Created by B.H. on December 04, 2012

Medicare, medicaid, the Veterans Administration and America's overall health costs are tied directly to the cost of pharmaceuticals. With the upcoming fiscal cliff talks, it would make sense to address the issue of medication costs. If legislation was passed that allowed for longer times on pharmaceutical copyrights, we could quickly reduce costs without jeopardizing necessary health care benefits or private businesses. In addition to readdressing copyright laws, much like banning advertising for cigarette companies, banning commercials for pharmaceutical companies would reduce their running costs. These solutions along with other pharmaceutical changes could reduce our health care costs.
