This petition is addressed to our President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, regarding the recent treatment of a Transgender flight passenger by the name of Shadi Petosky. As mentioned in several news outlets, Ms. Petosky had undergone very demeaning and threatening behavior from the TSA.
While we petitioners honor the hard work and dedication of our TSA officials and staff across the country, there must be a standard of fair treatment that should be accessible to all. As an identity that faces many lacking civil liberties, current airline security policies can create a threatening environment that "outs" Transgender travelers.
We, the petitioners, request your administration's assistance in helping to address missing components in TSA protocol for Trans* folks.
