Four decades of social science study are conclusive, persuasive beyond any reasonable doubt.
The American Academy of Pediatrics policy statement on media violence reflects the views of the scientific community. "More than 3500 research studies have examined the association between media violence and violent behavior; all but 18 have shown a positive relationship. ...most entertainment violence is used for immediate visceral thrills without portraying any human cost. ...studies have shown that the most insidious and potent effect of media violence is to desensitize all of us to real life violence."
Government must subject the violence, gun violence in particular, at the center of the entertainment industry's most lucrative product lines and revenue streams, to reasonable restrictions.
