Several internet providers such as AT&T have enforced a data cap on the amount of information used by its customers each month. The purpose of such regulation often times requires the customer to either subscribe to other services the internet provider offers or have no access to vital information in regards to jobs and education. The problem however is that to the providers would require the providers to monitor data use and compile records of said use, in some cases forcing the customers to spend more than they can afford on an internet system that is suppose to be open and free. In addition the internet providers would rather sell an upgrade with a higher internet speed with the same data over than listening to the customers.
