address the rhetoric of the gun lobby by taking an intelligent stand against assault weapons by reviving the Brady Bill.

Created by A.Z. on July 20, 2012

The second amendment has a special place in this country, unique to any nation. Personal responsibility is paramount to gun ownership. I believe that there is no place in the civilian arena for assault weapons, high capacity ammunition clips, or unlimited buying and selling of weapons or ammunition without reasonable restrictions. Waiting periods, background checks, and other proven methods of deterring a potentially dangerous person from obtaining the materials to cause harm to innocent members of our communities should be instituted and enforced on a Federal level, with states having the option to create even more strict laws. Every person in this country has a right to defend themselves or hunt, but the above mentioned restrictions do not interfere with that right.
