The student debt crisis has crippled many young adults who can never hope to see a day when they will be out of debt. Many Americans struggle to pay bills on meager salaries with a poor job market. There is no hope in sight to be debt free, own a home, or save for retirement due to high interest rates and predatory lending.
Many students don't know the commitment they are making at 18 years old - they dream of higher education only to have those dreams dashed when faced with student debts after graduation.
There needs to be accountability for our future. This will trickle back down to government when gen x/y gets ready to retire and have no savings on their own.
