address Turkey's oppression of its own voters and its tacit support of ISIS.

Created by B.K. on November 23, 2015

Over the past few years, the government of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has systematically oppressed opposition to its increasingly Sharia-esque policies while ignoring the threat of ISIS. His government became involved because it saw an opportunity to bomb the Kurdish militia units, the only fighting force in the region we can call our allies. Further, his government has given tacit support to ISIS by refusing to take out the key ISIS supply town of Jarablus, which would help starve ISIS of supplies.

We therefore petition the Obama administration to formally acknowledge that Erdoğan has committed crimes against humanity, supported terrorism, and dishonored his nation's dignity as a NATO member, but also sanction his nation for those crimes as we would other rogue states.
