Address the unemployment of people 50+, who are experiencing long term unemployment and cannot retire.

Created by P.W. on January 22, 2016

People aged 50 and over are being laid off and unable to get interviews or be rehired as companies fill their ranks with younger employees. Many are suffering long term employment, forced to go into retirement savings. Having anticipated to work at least through the age of 65 or older, if Social Security is age is raised, this generation of Baby Boomers has been largely ignored, despite articles in major publications such as Bloomberg and the New York Times.

Most companies require high school and college graduation dates in their application process. Recruiters are told that they do not want anyone with more than 10 years experience. This is not being addressed by anyone and has dire implications for this large, productive population that bring knowledge and experience.
