Address the veterans administration and remove the 10 year (Montgomery) and 15 year (post 9/11) GI bill time limits.

Created by J.C. on February 21, 2014

Many veteran such as myself were unable to utilize our post service education benefits within the time limits put on the two GI bills.

Here is my own personal case (abridged). There are many similar. I was busy trying to make ends meet after separation from the military. I wanted to be in a place that I was comfortable attending school and being able to handle it along with other distractions of life. Now I have arrived at that point in where the drive, desire, and time are all present to begin a higher education program, but the benefits I paid into and served for are no longer available.

There are hundreds if not thousands of stories similar to mine of Veterans losing their benefits because of an arbitrary time limit. Please address these limits. We only ask for what we have earned.
