Addressing the Current Crisis of Central American Children Refugees along the Southern US Border Now

Created by D.R. on October 01, 2014

The Central American children entering the US along our southern border need to be treated with compassion and provided with emotional care via counseling and legal help during their processing through U.S.Immigration Courts. Counseling must be with Spanish speaking Licensed Clinical Social Workers who can assess the level of each child’s post-trauma mental health needs, prepare the necessary reports for immigration court processing for each child, for them to have any chance of being granted asylee status. Legal counsel in Spanish as they are processed through the Immigration process is also paramount.Border refugee children are fleeing a violent culture which is an accepted socio-political structure. They face retribution and possible death returning home. This is America lest we forget!
