The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution was adopted on December the 15th 1791 along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. This amendment has faced court battles in the very recent past, most notably in 2008 and 2010. These two cases went before the US Supreme Court where it was decided that we have the right to keep and bear firearms unconnected to military service. Any unilateral action by the President such as Executive orders that limit or place restrictions on this right are Unconstitutional.
