adjudicate form I-130- Petition for Alien Immediate Relative less than 5 months.

Created by D.N. on January 23, 2014

The normal processing time for form I-130 to petition for immediate relatives (spouse, parents, and children under 21 years old of US citizen) was less than 5 months. However, since Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) was introduced, the process is slowing down significantly. Some petitioners have to wait more than 12 months, some waited 16 months to be reunited with their love ones. Based on USCIS data published last year, USCIS might divert its staffs and resources to process DACA cases. This is unfair. US citizen petitioning for their love ones should have priority. Please help to make immigration fair for legal US citizens.
