Our education system is, to be blunt, flawed. What we need is a education system that truly prepares our children for life as an adult and that teaches them exactly what is necessary to be a fully functional adult.
Step one would be to remove the classes that are 'required' but have no real bearing on what life is outside of school. And have schools focus more on electives that help kids determine what they want to do with their lives.
Classes such as financial literacy is a good step but more info is needed. They don't teach kids how to go out and get a car, or a house. They don't teach how basic politics work that effect every person alive. Nor is basic auto repairs required. Common sense subjects that everyone needs to know but doesn't because they had to take so many others
