When social security was created the eligibility age was 65 and the average life expectancy was 63. The social security eligibility age should be increased by 1 year, each year until the eligibility age exceeds the average life expecancy from the last 10 year census by 2 years. These adjustments should be revised with each 10 year US census.
This measured approach will help us to reduce the impact of social security on our burgeoning entitlement system.
