Adjust the pay scale of state representatives to match that of the median pay of said state. That in effect would help those reps. see what the average citizen in that state goes through on a daily basis. those adjustments should only be the wages they receive not including travel expenses and per day wage for food and shelter while away from home. This would help citizens in those states become better off seeing that no one wants to be broke the politicians would get a raise based yearly on how much better the state is financially doing, and a pay lose on the opposite side if the median pay drops.
