Adjust tax liabilities for Non-custodial parents, creating incentives for education and growth

Created by E.S. on January 29, 2014

Non-custodial parents are taxed with a standard deduction while custodial parents receive tax credits, child support and even welfare in certain instances based on the same criteria.

The Obama administration should urge legislation for Non-custodial parents to receive grants for education, tax credits, and a lower standard deduction to accommodate payments of child support which affect the net, or adjusted gross income. This legislation would ensure more accurate reporting of income in American households.

Non-custodial parents who work and pay insurance also suffer with higher deductibles. Non-custodial parents should also receive a secondary deductible to offset deductibles that are not covered by custodial parents medicaid claims.
